The "big three", was known at first as the "big four", until Vittorio Emanuele Orlando of Italy dropped. Orlando dropped out because Italy was promised land, but receive it, so they negotiated with Germany on their own. The countries who that were left were USA, Great Britain, and France. The leader of France was George Clemenceau. Clemenceau wanted to weaken Germany so they would never be able to make war again. He also wanted severe reparations, so Germany would be in debt for a long time. Woodrow Wilson was the President of the USA, and submitted the 14 points. Wilson also wanted to rebuild Germany on democratic lines, and wanted self determination for much of Europe. The leader of Great Britain was David Lloyd George. George also wanted reparations but not as much as France, because they still wanted to remain fairly strong trading partners with Germany. Britain was also looking to expand their overseas empire.
